Netflix is proudly waving their rainbow colored flag this morning as a way of celebrating the debut of their new trailer for Armistead Maupin's TALES OF THE CITY, an upcoming limited series drama starring Laura Linney (THE BIG C, SAVAGES), Ellen Page (THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY, WHIP IT) and Charlie Barnett (CHICAGO FIRE, SECRETS AND LIES).

Inspired by the books of Armistead Maupin, the Netflix Original Limited Series begins a new chapter in the beloved story. Mary Ann (Laura Linney) returns to present-day San Francisco and is reunited with her daughter Shawna (Ellen Page) and ex-husband Brian (Paul Gross), twenty years after leaving them behind to pursue her career.  Fleeing the midlife crisis that her picture-perfect Connecticut life created, Mary Ann is quickly drawn back into the orbit of Anna Madrigal (Olympia Dukakis), her chosen family and a new generation of queer young residents living at 28 Barbary Lane.

Serving as showrunner and executive producer of the series is Lauren Morelli, alongside executive producer-director Alan Poul, and executive producers Armistead Maupin and Laura Linney. Working Title’s Andrew Stearn, Liza Chasin, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will also executive produce.

When TALES FROM THE CITY arrives on Netflix begining on June 7, the series will also star a diverse cast of actors from all over the spectrum, with names such as Murray Bartlett, May Hong, Olympia Dukakis, Christopher Larkin, Ashley Park, Molly Ringwald, Michelle Buteau, and Dickie Hearts all contributing, among others.

In addition to the new trailer, Netflix also shared a small gallery of images and a poster from TALES OF THE CITY:
