Bill Murray, Adam Driver star in Jim Jarmusch’s The Dead Don’t Die trailer

The first trailer and poster for Jim Marmusch's zombie movie, THE DEAD DON'T DIE, has risen! The upcoming horror-comedy stars Bill Murray, Adam DriverIggy Pop, RZA, Tom Waits, Selena Gomez, Chloë Sevigny, Tilda Swinton, Sturgill Simpson and Steve Buscemi, among others. Take that, ZOMBIELAND: DOUBLE-TAP! I'm just kidding, I'm sure that movie will be a blast as well.

While there's still no official synopsis for Jarmusch's zombie comedy, I'm not entirely convinced that it needs one. After viewing the trailer, it's easy to see that THE DEAD DON'T DIE is what happens when the zombie apocalypse hits the podunk of Centerville, a sleepy backwater where the local law enforcement are ill-equipped to combat an invasion of the undead. As shit continues to hit the fan, and the Centerville PD steadily find themselves outnumbered by the town's growing populace of brain-craving citizens, they looks to an unlikely cast of characters to help stem the tide against those who refuse to go gently into the Great Hereafter.

Wow! Did you get a good look at that cast? I mean, I'll be seeing this on the Murray and Waits factor alone, but damn! As a master of the arthouse screen, it should be quite interesting to see what Jarmusch's take on the zombie genre will be. And if that project amounts to embarrassment of riches in the casting department, you count me in.

Focus Features plans to unleash THE DEAD DON'T DIE in theaters on June 14, 2019.
