After recently finishing the script for his next major motion picture outing for Warner Bros., DUNKIRK and INCEPTION filmmaker Christopher Nolan has informed Variety that John David Washington has been tapped to star in his next project.

Washington recently starred opposite Adam Driver in Spike Lee's BLACKKKLANSMAN, the Oscar-nominated biographical crime drama that tells the story of Ron Stallworth, an African American police officer from Colorado Springs, CO, who successfully manages to infiltrate the local Ku Klux Klan branch with the help of a Jewish surrogate who eventually becomes its leader. The film is based on a set of actual and remarkable events.

Less than two weeks ago, rumors began circulating that Nolan's next feature would be presented as a cross between NORTH BY NORTHWEST and INCEPTION. As it turns out, the rumor was just that, as WB reps gathered to deny the film's supposed description. For the moment, details about the film are being kept under wraps, with Washington's casting being our clue into the mystery.

Nolan is also producing along with his partner Emma Thomas, with plans to bring the project into production later this year. We've also heard that, according to a WB insider, that Nolan's next will likely be a "massive, innovative, action blockbuster, which will again be shown in IMAX."
