This afternoon at the Television Critics Association press tour, FX announced that comedian Chris Rock will be joining the cast of their hit limited-series FARGO. Scheduled to go into production next year, FX hopes to release the much-anticipated season in 2019 as well. Hailed as a tale of “immigration and assimilation and the things we do for money,” FX says that the fourth season of FARGO will take place in 1950 in Kansas City, Missouri, where two criminal syndicates — one Italian, one African-American — have struck an uneasy peace. To cement their peace, the heads of both families have traded their eldest sons. Upon entering the show, Rock will play the head honcho of one of the syndicates, who has surrendered his son to his enemy, and who must raise his son’s enemy as his own. But then the head of the Kansas City mafia goes into the hospital for routine surgery and dies — and everything changes (via Variety).
LEGION's Noah Hawley, who created the FARGO series for FX, will be manning the helm, once again, as the showrunner, writer, and director of the series.

For the past three seasons, FARGO has remained a tour de force of talent with stars like Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman, Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons, Jean Smart, and Ewan McGregor each delivering rock-solid performances for their respective seasons. In the past, the show has been nominated for several awards, with three Emmy Award wins being among just a handful of the feathers in FARGO's cap. Rock's participation on the program will mark a big acting return to the small screen for the comedian, who as of late has spent much of his time serving as an executive producer for talk show THE RUNDOWN WITH ROBIN THEDE.
