With pre-production already underway, and a working title of ALPHA COP revealed, we've got yet another slice of delicious JOHN WICK-related news to share, as it's been announced that the franchise is set to be adapted into a television series at Starz. The forthcoming show set in the JOHN WICK universe will be titled THE CONTINENTAL, and will center on the inner workings of the exclusive Continental Hotel which serves as a refuge for assassins.

Showrunning the new series will be writer/producer Chris Collins whose work on programs such as SONS OF ANARCHY, THE WIRE, and THE MAN IN HIGH CASTLE should serve as a major boon for keeping with the gritty tone of the first two JOHN WICK movies. Executive producing the new series will be Keanu Reeves, in a partnership with Thunder Road Pictures’ Basil Iwanyk, JOHN WICK co-director and JOHN WICK 2 helmer Chad Stahelski, screenwriter Derek Kolstad, Chris Collins and David Leitch. So yeah, a powerhouse of talent who're entirely familiar with the inner workings of the Wickverse. This is going to be good, ladies and gentlemen.

“This series is truly unlike anything else on TV,” said Chris Albrecht, Starz president and CEO, while talking up the new series. “The Continental promises to include the thunderous fight sequences and intensely staged shootouts between professional assassins and their targets that fans have come to expect in the John Wick movie franchise as well as introducing some new, darkly compelling characters who inhabit this underground world.”

Ah, it feels good to know that this project is finally up and running. I remember hearing whispers of the show being considered for TV, though now that Starz owns Lionsgate, it appears that the party can officially begin!

What are you hoping for from a television series adaptation set in JOHN WICK's Los Angeles? Are you on board for meeting more dangerous individuals like the puppy-loving Wick, would you lost your shit if Reeves was announced to cameo? Let us know in the comments section below!
