New Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets promo posters have arrived

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

A new batch of promotional materials for Luc Besson's upcoming sci-fi epic VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS have surfaced today and boy are they ever colorful! It's been quite some time since I was genuinely excited for a high-fantasy action sci-fi flick, and I can tell you right not that I'll be during this film's opening weekend to check it out!

If you've somehow managed to miss the details regarding VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS, this film takes place in the 28th century, where Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) are a team of special operatives charged with maintaining order throughout the human territories. Under assignment from the Minister of Defense, the two embark on a mission to the astonishing city of Alpha-an ever-expanding metropolis where species from all over the universe have converged over centuries to share knowledge, intelligence and cultures with each other.  There is a mystery at the center of Alpha, a dark force which threatens the peaceful existence of the City of a Thousand Planets, and Valerian and Laureline must race to identify the marauding menace and safeguard not just Alpha, but the future of the universe.

Aw yeah, this sounds to me like some straight-up THE FIFTH ELEMENT-style adventuring for Besson, and I certainly don't mind Laureline joining the famed director's ever-growing army of female warriors for the silver screen. Today, we've got a treat for you that comes in the form of four gorgeous character posters and one rather stunning one sheet.

You can check all of those posters out below, and don't forget to click on them to embiggen the images:
