Last Updated on August 2, 2021

The murder of young Laura Palmer kicked off a series phenomenon following FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) and his search for answers in the titular town of Twin Peaks. The follow-up series, directed entirely by David Lynch in what he’s dubbed an, “18-hour movie”, picks up 25 years after the events of the first. In case you wanted to see some of the returning cast members, Entertainment Weekly has 3 different covers of which you can check out below!

While I didn’t grow up Twin Peaks, I enjoyed watching the show and reveling in all of its eccentricities when it came around to Netflix. I think it’s kind of an odd choice to get a revival, but then again, what ISN’T odd about the show? Either way, fans are fascinated to see where the plot can go from here, especially considering what we witnessed come the end of season 2. Here’s hoping this can live up to the hype!

The 18-hour Showtime series will premiere on May 21st.
