Wall-E meets Splash may be the next film on Guillermo del Toro’s agenda

Guillermo del Toro has been known to pick up and drop off a lot of projects over the years, so I'd take the following with a grain of salt until it actually goes into production. The Tracking Board is reporting that Guillermo del Toro has just pitched an original story described as "WALL-E meets SPLASH", of which Fox Searchlight will be producing. As of now, the charismatic del Toro is on board to write, produce, and direct the picture.

For those keeping track, del Toro's latest film, CRIMSON PEAK, hits theaters on October 16th. The man is currently in pre-production on PACIFIC RIM 2, which is scheduled to open on August 4, 2017. He's also been developing a series for Amazon, Killing on Carnival Row. All the while, recent talks have picked up again for HELLBOY 3. I'm not saying that this "WALL-E meets SPLASH" project isn't going to happen, but as always, del Toro has a lot on his plate. As per usual, we'll have to wait and see.

Guillermo del Toro's next horror venture, CRIMSON PEAK, will open on October 16, 2015.

Does anyone treat their monsters better?
