The Star Trek cast goes beyond…with a charity dance party

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Now here's a movie that's living up to it's title. At the very least, the cast certainly is! You may remember Omaze from their promotions with AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON and STAR WARS: THE FORCE UNLEASHED, and now they're bringing their game to STAR TREK.

Omaze raises money and awareness for charitable initiatives by offering everyone the opportunity to win once-in-a-lifetime experiences that can’t be bought. For a $10 donation, you are automatically entered to win a walk-on role in STAR TREK BEYOND. In addition to the grand prize, each week they’re randomly selecting an additional winner to form the first-ever, To Boldly Go Crew. The members of this honorary crew will visit the set, hang with the cast, and watch as they film scenes from STAR TREK BEYOND. These words don't do it justice, however, as the following video is a must-see!

Well, regardless how BEYOND turns out, we can't fault them for not having fun on set! I can't say that when I woke up this morning, I would see Idris Elba dancing on the Enterprise, but there ya have it! It looks like Omaze is doing some great things, and even giving us fans some cool extras to boot. If you're interesting in donating, you can head here. Otherwise, I think I have to watch Elba do his thang one more time…

STAR TREK BEYOND is scheduled to hit theaters on July 8, 2016.
