Cool Videos: Clever mash-up of the Boyhood trailer with Star Wars

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

BOYHOOD is one of the most acclaimed films of 2014. STAR WARS: EPISODE I – THE PHANTOM MENACE was not one of the most acclaimed films of 1999. But, put them together and you get a correlation that may not have popped out at you on first glance.

Both Richard Linklater‘s film and George Lucas‘ prequel trilogy chronicle the life of a young boy over a tumultuous decade in their respective lives. While BOYHOOD seems to follow the more common adolescence of a child from a broken home, THE PHANTOM MENACE gives us the all to familiar rise and fall of the Chosen One turned Sith Lord. It is like Lucas was speaking to every one of us!

In all seriousness, this is a pretty well put together mash-up that will have you looking at both films unlike you ever have before.
