Check out the very NSFW music video for Fifty Shades of Grey

It has begun. With just over three weeks until the theatrical release of FIFTY SHADES OF GREY, the NSFW marketing onslaught brings us the first music video from the film's soundtrack. Performed by The Weeknd, the song "Earn It" showcases exactly what you would expect from a song made for FIFTY SHADES OF GREY: sultry lyrics and some BDSM visual references like electrical tape, leather, and rope swings.

Directed by FIFTY SHADES OF GREY helmer Sam Taylor-Johnson, the music video and the accompanying behind the scenes look at the production behind it feel like a movie studio's interpretation of sexy rather than an organically created sexy film. Everything about FIFTY SHADES OF GREY just feels kind of forced to me (no pun intended).

Still, we have gone quite some time without a good sexy thriller from Hollywood. At the very least, maybe FIFTY SHADES OF GREY will kickstart some more creativity in that department. For now, I fully anticipate that this song is going to be playing in a lot of teenager's cars with steamed up windows.

FIFTY SHADES OF GREY opens in theaters on February 13, 2015.
