The average person may not recognize the name Scoot McNairy, but movie fans will instantly know who he is. McNairy has been making a name for himself in recent years with great parts in movies like Gareth Edwards‘ MONSTERS, KILLING THEM SOFTLY, and Ben Affleck‘s ARGO. He also recently appeared in the Marvel One-Shot ALL HAIL THE KING and will soon be seen in THE ROVER and David Fincher‘s GONE GIRL, also opposite Affleck. You can also catch him on the great new AMC series HALT AND CATCH FIRE.

It looks like McNairy really likes working with Affleck as he has just joined Zack Snyder‘s BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE in an unspecified role. Before we get all excited that this is the new Flash or Green Lantern, this could easily be any number of random parts in the film. Just because it says unspecified doesn’t mean we should speculate, even though speculation is fun.

I would probably put money on McNairy’s role, whatever it may be, being significant enough for some dialogue but maybe not much more than that. But, you can never tell with anything coming from big studio projects these days. We will just have to wait and see and just maybe find some more details out as shooting continues.

BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE hits theaters on May 6, 2016.
