Check out five new clips from Neighbors with Seth Rogen and Zac Efron

Some people are getting worn out on Seth Rogen and the entire Judd Apatow generation of comedy. I do not count myself among them because even at their worst, these guys are able to at least make me laugh even if I don’t love the entire movie. THIS IS THE END proved that there was still enough left in their creative gas tank to make a movie that was consistently funny from beginning to end and also an overall good flick. Now, we have NEIGHBORS which, to me, looks absolutely hysterical.

Maybe it is because Rogen and crew are entering the same age range where I am and are making comedies that reflect adult themes and humor. Rogen was once the young upstart in these comedies opposite actors like Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, and Adam Sandler. Now, Rogen is taking on their roles while the younger talent like Zac Efron play the early twenties character.

These five new clips from NEIGHBORS highlights the start difference between being in your early twenties and your early thirties as Rogen and Rose Byrne clash with Efron, Dave Franco, and their frat buddies. What ensues looks like the best kind of movie chaos. Director Nicholas Stoller has given us FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL, GET HIM TO THE GREEK, and THE FIVE YEAR ENGAGEMENT, so he knows how to balance man-child humor along with a sentimental message.

Will NEIGHBORS be the most original movie of the year? Probably not, but I am sure as hell going to see it with a big ass smile on my face.

NEIGHBORS opens May 9, 2014.
