During the press junkets for STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS, many of the cast-members made reference to a prank played on set involving Simon Pegg and something called “neutron cream”. Very often when we hear about these stories told to talk show hosts like David Letterman or Jimmy Kimmel, we laugh along with the storyteller but never get to be in on the fun.
This just discovered video comes from the STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS production and appears to be an official featurette, possibly from the Blu-ray. In it, Pegg explains the prank and then goes on to get Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, and Benedict Cumberbatch. Cumberbatch’s reaction may be the best since he discovers the joke in front of a large number of crew-members.
It is nice to see there is some fun to be had in these big studio productions. I do imagine that even though Simon Pegg seems to be a very likeable guy, Cumberbatch will have his vengeance.
