Jeff Daniels appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night to promote the upcoming second season of his HBO series THE NEWSROOM, but it was another project that everyone wanted to know about. Last month,
Universal stepped in
to greenlight the long awaited sequel DUMB AND DUMBER TO. Warner Bros. and star Jim Carrey never seemed to be on the same page with The Farrelly Brothers and it lingered in development hell. But, now it is happening and Daniels had a date for us to look forward to.

“I’ll believe it’s happening when I’m actually there staring at Jim Carrey, but it looks like we’re starting in September.”

Filming this year would put DUMB AND DUMBER TO in position to be released in 2014 which also marks the 20th anniversary of the original film. Holy crap: DUMB AND DUMBER came out in 1994? I feel super f*cking old now.

Jim Carrey is currently making headlines by condemning the violence in his upcoming movie KICK-ASS 2 which has left many puzzled as to why he would have appeared in the movie if he felt so strongly about it. Hopefully Carrey won’t find anything wrong with DUMB AND DUMBER TO so we can get a proper film sequel featuring Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunn.
