Fox has shuffled around some of the release dates for their upcoming movies but the key announcement here is that INDEPENDENCE DAY 2 is scheduled to be released on July 3rd, 2015. Roland Emmerich will be back to create more epic property damage but it isn't clear if Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum or any of the other previous cast members will return. Emmerich's been talking about a sequel for awhile now but I didn't think the sequel was this close to actually happening.
Fox has pushed ASSASSIN'S CREED with Michael Fassbender back from May 2015 to June 19th, 2015. Probably a good idea since STAR WARS: EPISODE VII and THE AVENGERS 2 come out that month. May of 2015 might go down as one of the highest grossing months of all time and it's smart move by Fox since so much attention will be on those two giant films.
The last change from Fox is that X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST and DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES have switched release dates. DOFP will now be out on May 23rd, 2014 while DAWN will hit theaters on July 18th, 2014.
