If you're a movie score junkie this one's for you. Water Tower Music has released the first track from the MAN OF STEEL soundtrack by Hans Zimmer, which is the same one used in the most recent trailer. Following on the heels of John Williams, Zimmer has created a new, exciting theme that is boiling with thematic motifs and pulse pounding flair that fits the red-and-blue superhero to a tee. Some have lamented the loss of Williams iconic theme, but after more than 30 years I think it's just fine to move on to the next thing. Nothing will ever take away the brilliance that is Williams’ score, so letting a master like Zimmer take on a theme for Superman's next evolution onscreen is a damn fine choice.

The soundtrack, set for release on June 11th, will be available in regular and deluxe versions, which you can preorder here.

MAN OF STEEL, directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill, Any Adams, Kevin Costner, Russell Crowe, Diane Lane, Michael Shannon, and Laurence Fishburne is set to storm the box office on June 14, 2013.
