Many of us who soak up the source material for book-to-film translations often get into a state of rage when talking to someone who is just catching on with the movie or TV show based on it. It’s a strange kind of ownership we feel that’s completely unfounded and downright nasty at times, making us sound like a raving lunatic when discussing it with others. I’ve been on both ends of the spectrum when it comes to this and it can be quite “spirited” when you get into the weeds of talking about how a movie or TV show deviates or stays true to the original material.

In this music video from Axis of Awesome, they get into the “rage” of HBO’s Game of Thrones, a mostly faithful adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s famed novels, and just how infuriating it can be when discussing it with those who have only seen the show (and vice versa). It’s a great video, hilarious in that “funny ’cause it’s true” fashion. It’s amazing how twisted up in knots we get about the things we love, isn’t it?

Enjoy:

HBO’s Game of Thrones season 3 is currently running (see our recap for this week’s episode here!).
