Channing Tatum, Jamie Foxx and Maggie Gyllenhaal are in these first pics from White House Down

What’s not to like about WHITE HOUSE DOWN? I think the title alone makes it sort of awesome.

I’ll be honest– at first I was terribly skeptical. I was wondering what kind of epically, awfully good film this would be. Then after casting Channing Tatum in a Roland Emmerich film, things start to look up. Jamie Foxx, Maggie Gyllenhaal, James Woods, Richard Jenkins, and Jason Clarke board, and the script comes straight from James Vanderbilt (ZODIAC).

The first pics from Entertainment Weekly have come out, and they showcase the badass action stylings of Tatum, hot Gyllenhaal, and Obama-esque Foxx. The plot centers on, “John Cale (Tatum), an aspiring Secret Service agent, wind up protecting the Commander-in-Chief (Foxx) when the White House is invaded by a paramilitary group.”

Speaking of Obama-esque, Foxx said this about his character, “There will be moments in the movie – the speeches, stuff like that – where [Obama] will know we’re doing a nod to him… But hopefully he’ll understand that my character is definitely not him.”

Take a look at the pics below.
