Director Rian Johnson’s upcoming sci-fi actioner LOOPER has got a lot going for it.  Aside from the great cast of Bruce Willis, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Emily Blunt, Jeff Daniels, and Paul Dano, it’s got a mixed bag of sci-fi, action, and time travel all wrapped into one, which has the potential to fire on all cylinders.  Judging by what we’ve seen so far and these two short-but-sweet pieces, the cake of this film continues to build layers.

Here’s the TV spot:

Here’s the clip:

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that this looks to be Bruce Willis’ best work in a long time.  Based on that clip alone it looks like he’s showing the intensity that’s been missing of late.  Gordon-Levitt is just a tremendous talent to watch as his career continues to grow and I’m sure LOOPER will eclipse the not-so-hot box office of PREMIUM RUSH.  Regardless, it seems that 2012 is Gordon-Levitt’s year, as well as a step in the right direction for Willis.

LOOPER travels to theaters on September 28, 2012.

Plus, Emily Blunt…wow…
