Another actor is joining the cast of Disney’s MALEFICENT.
Brenton Thwaites has signed on to play the prince in the film. There are no other details on his character at this time. If you’ve never heard of Thwaites, he’s an Australian actor who had a role in the series, HOME & AWAY and will do his best Christopher Atkins for the Lifetime remake of BLUE LAGOON.
The kid must be a pretty decent actor to have landed a role in this. I wonder how he will do opposite Angelina Jolie, who has the title role. Dakota Fanning and Sharlto Copley will also star.
It will be interesting to see the directing debut of Robert Stromberg as well. His background is primarily in visual effects on movies like THERE WILL BE BLOOD and WALK THE LINE. Recently he was working on HBO’s BOARDWALK EMPIRE. The guy has some good films under his belt, and there’s no doubt he’s learned a lot.
