Bryan Singer puts Anonymous writer to work on Battlestar Galactica movie

I thought it was just some weird dream I had that Bryan Singer was making a BATTLESTAR GALACTICA movie that had nothing to do with the recent sci-fi series.

But no, that’s actually happening, and now moving forward as Singer has enlisted writer John Orloff to start scripting it. He recently penned ANONYMOUS, which is getting good reviews so far, although it has just been downgraded to a limited release.

This is passion project for both Singer and Orloff, and the writer explains how pumped he is to write this movie.

“I have wanted to write this movie since I was 12 years old, and built aGalactica model from scratch out of balsa wood, cardboard, old model parts and LEDs,” Orloff tells Deadline. “I love BSG, and I would pass on the job rather than frak it up.”

I don’t know, this seems like a recipe for trouble to me. There is literally nothing that can be done that will not piss off a legion of fanboys, whether it’s changed too much (the series was better!) or not enough (this is a rip-off!). Dangerous waters indeed.
