Floppy disk drives may be better known for the unnerving noises that accompany data access more than their storage capacity (in the pre-CD days, I can recall some programs and games arriving on a dozen or more diskettes).
But someone found a perfect use for this outdated technology — somehow synching the timing and pitch on a pair of 3.5″ drives to buzz and crunch out a surprisingly good low-tech rendition of the familiar “Imperial March” theme from STAR WARS. While I find the lack of SSD disturbing, the Force is clearly strong with this one.
