We recently heard that “True Blood” vamp Alexander Skarsgård might spend some of his daywalking downtime traveling back a few centuries for a Viking action epic called THE VANGUARD.
Now comes word that the dreamy Swede could head to THE EAST for some thrills. The project would pair him with actress Brit Marling (ANOTHER EARTH), who’ll play an agent infiltrating an eco-terrorism group. Skarsgård will play the group’s leader seeking vengeance against unethical corporations, and his inherent hunkiness will likely complicate matters.
The movie will be directed by Marling’s SOUND OF MY VOICE collaborator Zal Batmanglij, whose name is awesome because it’s like Batman plus two sound effects from the campy 1960s Adam West show. ZAL! GLiJ!
Anyway, Skarsgård will next be seen menacing James Marsden and Kate Bosworth in the superfluous STRAW DOGS remake, and playing Taylor Kitsch’s older (and likely doomed) brother in next summer’s boats-against-extraterrestrials board game adaptation BATTLESHIP.
