In the trailer below for THE IRON LADY we have the first footage we’ve seen of Meryl Streep as former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. It’s only a few seconds but just from that brief bit, and from the fact that she’s Meryl f*cking Streep, I think it’s a safe bet we know at least one of the Best Actress nominees this season. (If you have any doubts, it’s being released by The Weinstein Co. who live for this sort of thing.)
As mentioned, the film stars Streep as Thatcher with Jim Broadbent starring as her husband Denis. The movie reunites Streep with Pyllida Lloyd who directed the actress a few years back in MAMMA MIA.
