Man of Steel enlisting Russell Crowe to be Jor-El

JoBloJoBlo

The MAN OF STEEL cast still has a few roles yet to be filled, and though seemingly only minor ones remain, the film might be getting a big name to come on board for one of them.

Russell Crowe is reportedly in negotiations to star as Jor-El, Superman’s Kryptonian father according to Variety who has the exclusive.

If anything, I would have pegged Crowe to play Zod, a role that eventually went to the creeptastic Michael Shannon. But thinking for a moment, I suppose I could see him as the stern and wise Jor-El.

I presume the role wouldn’t be too extensive, merely existing in flashbacks or the occasional fortress hologram, but he’s not a bad face to add to the film’s roster.

But this isn’t a done deal it seems, and as soon as I hear more info about it, I’ll let you know. In the meantime you can discuss your thoughts on this possible casting.
