With the amount of cash that Liam Neeson’s TAKEN hauled in, you shouldn’t act surprised that there’s going to be a sequel.
It’s been in the works for some time, but the debate has been over whether or not director Pierre Morel would return. He’s not, but fortunately Luc Besson is still scripting it and obviously Neeson is starring.
Rather the new man behind the camera is Olivier Megaton, which I pray is his real name, because that would be amazing. He’s previously helmed TRANSPORTER 3, which had the distinct honor of being marginally better than the horrendous TRANSPORTER 2, and also COLOMBIANA.
That film stars Zoe Saldana as a kick ass chick bent on revenge. As luck would have it, that trailer just debuted, and you can catch it below. What is it with girls going on killing sprees in movies these days? I love that they literally have the line “she’s just a girl” in there.
