Director Andrew Niccol’s (LORD OF WAR, S1M0NE, GATTACA) “sci-fi action love story” I’M.MORTAL (an annoyingly terrible title) won’t be called that anymore. And frankly, I don’t care what they end up titling it, because now it’s going be starring the incredibly sexy Olivia Wilde (COWBOYS & ALIENS, TRON: LEGACY). Does anything else really matter now? No.
The untitled Niccol project currently stars Justin Timberlake (THE SOCIAL NETWORK, ALPHA DOG), Amanda Seyfried (JENNIFER’S BODY, ALPHA DOG), Vincent Kartheiser (Bitchface Peter from the amazing “Mad Men”, ALPHA DOG), and Cillian Murphy (INCEPTION, SUNSHINE). The film’s concept revolves around the idea that aging stops at 25.
“Time has become the currency. Once you turn 25 and your aging gene turns off, you must buy and bank time. If you are rich enough, you can live forever. But if you run out of time, you are engineered to die automatically.
When a rebel from the ghetto named Will (Timberlake) is falsely accused of murdering a wealthy man for his time, he’s forced to go on the run with a beautiful hostage (Seyfried). The duo unite in a battle against the system as they struggle to stay alive.”
According to TheWrap, “Wilde will play Timberlake’s mother despite being 3 years younger than him in real life.” Likewise, 31-year-old Kartheiser will play Seyfried’s powerful father. Murphy will portray a ruthless law enforcement officer referred to as a “Timekeeper”.
No word yet on when we can expect to see Niccol’s film.
