Add another name to the already stellar cast of the upcoming adaptation of TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY. And f*ck it, let’s throw a cherry on top in the form of a Russian hottie as well!
The Daily Mail is reporting that actor Mark Strong (GREEN LANTERN, KICK-ASS) is the latest to join the Tomas Alfredson (LET THE RIGHT ONE IN) adaptation of the excellent John Le Carré novel, joining the likes of Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, Jared Harris, Ciaran Hinds, and Benedict Cumberbatch. It’s not yet clear who Strong will be portraying. But that cherry I mentioned? Lovely actress Svetlana Khodchenkova (pictured below) will also be featured in the film, playing a Russian spy.
The story – adapted by Peter Morgan with John Le Carré – is about retired intelligence agent George Smiley (Oldman) who’s called back to service when a high-ranking member of MI6 is suspected of being a Soviet mole. It’s based on the first novel of Le Carré’s Karla Trilogy which is followed up by The Hounourable Schoolboy and Smiley’s People.
