Come argue about EW’s 100 greatest characters of the last 20 years

JoBloJoBlo

I’m always suspicious of any Top Whatever list over twenty five. Any more than that, and you’re pretty much throwing darts at wall. But here we are, with Entertainment Weekly counting down the best fictional characters since the magazine was created in 1990.

The full hundred is in the magazine itself, but they have shared their top ten with us, which you can find below.

1) Homer Simpson – The Ultimate D’Oh boy

2) Harry Potter – The Wiz Kid

3) Buffy

4) Tony Soprano – The toughest family man

5) The Joker

6) Rachel Green – The girl next door who’ll be our best Friend forever

7) Edward Scissorhands – The sharpest dresser

8) Hannibal Lecter – A doctor who put the gore in gourmand.

9) Carrie Bradshaw – The sleek city slicker.

10) Spongebob Squarepants

I guess they didn’t have any clever puns about Buffy, the Joker or Spongebob?

Again, this seems like darts at a wall. Homer and Harry Potter I can see being on here no question, but really, Rachel Green, Edward Scissorhands and Spongebob Squarepants? If you say so.

Anyway, fortunately we here at JoBlo have our own much better version of a list like this, made up by you guys, our community. We have a top twenty list for everything, including the best movie characters, as chosen by you guys in your MFC profiles. Go here to check that one out. Our top 5 includes Indiana Jones, Tyler Durden, Darth Vader, Batman and the Joker.
