You’ve almost certainly seen actor Kevin Durand, but so far in minor roles like the biggest Tremor brother in SMOKIN’ ACES, the Blob in WOLVERINE, the instigating guard in 3:10 TO YUMA, or the ruthless merc Keamy on “Lost”.
Durand will be taking it big time as the baddie in the upcoming high school sci-fi epic I AM NUMBER FOUR, playing the leader of an alien race hunting down fugitives hiding out on Earth.
The movie, based on an upcoming novel by James Frey and Jobie Hughes, is being directed by DJ Caruso (DISTURBIA, EAGLE EYE and the underappreciated THE SALTON SEA). It features Alex Pettyfer (BEASTLY) as an extraterrestrial refugee trying to assimilate to high school life on Earth while being mentored in his burgeoning special powers by DISTRICT 9’s Sharlto Copley. Teresa Palmer and Dianna Agron play hot chicks.
Heat Vision says that Durand, who will soon be seen as ironically named sidekick Little John in ROBIN HOOD, is also in talks to play a “Texan promoter of robot boxing” in the upcoming Hugh Jackman rock-em-sock-em REAL STEEL.
