In case you haven’t been following it, Woody Harrelson recently assaulted a photographer at La Guardia airport, pushing him in the face and damaging his camera. A complaint has been filed, and Harrelson has been forced to explain his actions. And in this current climate of celebrities being held largely unaccountable for their actions, refreshingly, Harrelson had a simple, plausible, and certainly understandable explanation for doing what he did:
“I wrapped a movie called ‘Zombieland,’ in which I was constantly under assault by zombies, then flew to New York, still very much in character… With my daughter at the airport I was startled by a paparazzo, who I quite understandably mistook for a zombie,”
I understand why a celebrity gets pissed with the paparazzi and especially when his daughter was there, but in terms of explanation… I’m one of the dumbest people I know but even to me this sounds stupid. The only way this would even be (still unbelievable, but) passable, was that in ZOMBIELAND, Harrelson’s character deals with the zombies by pushing them in the face and then smashing their cameras? Does that really happen? Why do they have cameras? Are the zombie tourists? Did they see Madison Square Garden? Oh, yeah, about that, Amber Heard stars in ZOMBIELAND.
