Eckhart’s new Hole

JoBloJoBlo

Although he already had achieved a degree of acclaim before, Aaron Eckhart earned a lifetime worth of goodwill through his association with the idolized THE DARK KNIGHT. Will fans follow both faces to a straight-up potentially depressing drama?

Eckhart has joined RABBIT HOLE, starring opposite Nicole Kidman in the Fox Searchlight project. Based on a stage play by David Lindsay-Abaire, the story is about “a happily married couple that is disrupted by an unexpected tragedy and the emotional journey they must undertake to regain happiness. Eckhart will play Kidman’s husband, who is trying to hold on to the memory of his dead son while dealing with the emotional coldness of his wife.”

The movie will be directed by John Cameron Mitchell, who last made the voyeurism film SHORTBUS but is probably best known for writing, directing and starring in HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH.

On a more action-related note, Eckhart will also be providing his heroic jaw to BATTLE: LOS ANGELES, which I am still somewhat astonished is actually being made.
