Marvel gathers writers

JoBloJoBlo

It looks like Marvel really is serious about building their catalog of characters into a whole mini movie universe. Or at least the ones they still have the movie rights to (so, a universe devoid of Spidey, Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Ghost Rider or X-Men).

Rather than putting a hot writer on each upcoming movie project one at a time, they’re taking a heavy dose of Pym particles and going macro — the studio is assembling a “fellowship” of writers to convene and expand pitches from the company into stories and scripts worthy of feature treatment. Writers assemble!

The studio is currently on the hunt for interested parties. Naturally, these writers won’t be working on the projects already in the pipe (THOR, AVENGERS, CAPTAIN AMERICA) — this gathering will assist Marvel in envisioning creative ways to launch second- and third-string properties like Black Panther, Cable, Doctor Strange, Iron Fist, Nighthawk and Vision.
