Update: So, according to “Hollywood Insider”, Beaufoy hasn’t been recruited for anything. WOLVERINE producer Lauren Shuler Donner did approach Beaufoy about it informally but he didn’t think he was right for the project. Also, they haven’t even started talking about a WOLVERINE 2: CLAWED AND FABULOUS.
Well, son of a bitch, not only is Fox preparing a sequel to the yet to be released comic adapted actioner X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE but they’ve already hired a writer to pen the screenplay. A scooper for AICN recently dropped the news that SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE scribe Simon Beaufoy recently mentioned at the Bradford International Film Festival in the UK that he’d been recruited to write the sequel to the clawed, irascible mutant’s adventures. What’s a little concerning, though, is that Beaufoy claims to have never even heard of the character so maybe not the best guy to write a movie about him. Though he could bring a fresh perspective to the whole thing. What do you guys think?
