Jackie Chan is Miyagi

JoBloJoBlo

Jackie Chan knows that a man who can catch a paycheck with chopsticks can accomplish anything… or at least the repackaging of your memories for financial gain.

The legendary martial actor will be mentoring a new childlike companion (no, not Chris Tucker), playing the wise Mr. Miyagi in a remake of THE KARATE KID. His student this time will be Will Smith’s precocious offspring Jaden Smith. The movie will, of course, “examine the relationship between an older martial-arts expert and a young boy who is picked on by bullies”.

The crane-kicking and leg-sweeping will be directed this time by Harald Zwart (THE PINK PANTHER 2, AGENT CODY BANKS), and will presumably not feature any appearances by Ralph Macchio, Elisabeth Shue, Martin Kove, William Zabka, or the vengeful spirit of Pat Morita. But it should.
