I honestly don’t know what the state of horror and sci-fi would be like without the influential contributions of John Carpenter. And while his post-THEY LIVE filmography isn’t exactly loaded with genre highlights, it’s always nice to hear he’s considering a return to features.
In the past couple of years, Carpenter has toyed with a Nic Cage prison drama and something called L.A. GOTHIC, but it sounds like a crime story called THE PRINCE may be the one with traction. As the project’s screenwriter Jeremy Passmore tells CHUD, it’s a character-based tale described as “UNFORGIVEN as a gangster movie” and “brutal and violent and dark at the end.”
Sounds like meaty return-to-the-top material for Carpenter, who recently has seemed content to just relax and cash checks for rights to the many remakes of his films. Check out more details of THE PRINCE RIGHT HERE.
