Where’s the Kombat?

JoBloJoBlo

Scorpion, Subzero and the various fighting freaks of the MORTAL KOMBAT game series are getting ready to mix it up with the heroes and villains of the DC Comics universe, but it’s been a while since they’ve taken on flesh and blood form (outside of that live-action syndicated show from a few years ago that happened to feature hotties like Jaime Pressly and Kristanna Loken).

When will they return to the big screen, with or without Christopher Lambert? Director “mink” (aka Christopher Morrison) is still attached to direct another flick of punching ninjas and kicky babes, but it’s still awaiting the bankroll. As mink tells Moviehole, the producers at Threshold “is working out the financing through a studio and or equity situation “, and basically nothing happens until then.

That includes whether it will be some kind of reboot, if any of the original cast is coming back, or what characters will be involved (please no Johnny Cage). mink also discusses a rather cool-sounding western story called 13 CHAMBERS, which you can read about RIGHT HERE .
