Still more Riddick?

JoBloJoBlo

ridI like the RIDDICK series as much as the next guy. Especially if the next guy happens to be Vin Diesel.

Although the last movie didn’t exactly light up the box office like the sunny side of Crematoria, Diesel still has designs on continuing the adventures of his smooth-skulled night-seeing intergalactic badass. The Vin-man says that PITCH BLACK and CHRONICLES writer-director David Twohy is “right now is writing the scripts. The only question is whether we take a page from the ‘Lord of the Rings’ guys and try to shoot the two chapters at the same time. There are two more in mind.”

While it’s an obvious passion project for Diesel and Twohy, it remains to be seen if anyone will pony up the cash for them to actually make another sequel, of course. Personally I might prefer playing as Riddick again — BUTCHER BAY was an excellent videogame experience. But the follow-up ASSAULT ON DARK ATHENA was apparently part of the dumping when the publisher was absorbed by Activision, so who knows when we’ll ever see it.
