It seems like the medieval sci-fi flick OUTLANDER has taken a long time making it to theaters… and now it might skip them altogether.
The gang at Dread Central noticed that the movie (opening in various international territories over the next few months) already has a domestic DVD for pre-order online, with a tentative date of November 18th. As the Weinstein Company is releasing the movie, this shouldn’t come as a terrible shock (unless you happened to actually see ROGUE — or a few dozen of their other genre movies — in a theater).
According to the film’s blog, however, the Weinsteins are “contractually obligated to a limited theatrical release” for the movie. So if you live in one of the four or five cities where they’ll probably dump it, you should check it out.
The movie stars Jim Caviezel, John Hurt, Sophia Myles and Ron Perlman, and follows a humanoid warrior who crashes on Earth in the time of Vikings while pursuing a monstrous alien predator.
