Jaume Collet-Serra's shark attack thriller THE SHALLOWS has a brand new clip, and though the wicked, be-finned creature is kept offscreen, it's very present here. This is the shark attack that kicks off the entire plot (this surfer's friends must be careless as hell), and though we don't see any gnashing jaws, it's still a gnarly affair. Check it out below!

Blake Lively plays

a young woman who is dealing with the recent death of her mother. While surfing on an isolated beach, she gets stranded 20 yards off shore on a buoy. What lies between her and the shore is a huge great white shark.

THE SHALLOWS swims into theatres on June 24th.
