Ron Perlman wants Hellboy 3 to happen – do you?

Not unlike most horror fans, Ron Perlman wants HELLBOY 3 to happen, and soon. Naturally, the actor has a bit more of a vested interested in seeing the franchise continue, but we can all probably agree that Guillermo del Toro needs to complete the story of Hellboy, Abe, and the rest of the paranormal gang.

Perlman had occasion to speak about the project at an event recently, and it sounds as though he’s not giving up hope it’ll happen, even as the chips are quite stacked against him. (You can also hear the man tell it himself in a video HERE.)

I’d like to not keep it going. I’d like to finish it, though. I’d like for there be a third film because the first two films set up for a huge resolve, and he (Guillermo del Toro) already understands what that resolve will kinda look like. He gave me a rather broad stroke sketch of what the third film would look like, and it’s so epic. It’s so deserved by the fans who hung in there for the first two, that I really feel as though it’s essential that we make it. So, I fight for it every day. Sometimes I’m the only voice, and sometimes there are others, but I’m never gonna stop trying to get Hellboy 3 made.

The truth of the matter, however, is that it’s just not probable. Del Toro is consistently busy, and HELLBOY II – as fun as it is – did not exactly light up the box office, making $160 million worldwide on a budget of $85 million.

What do you think? Would you like for the HELLBOY movies to continue?
