Hopefully I don’t have to try convincing you SNOWPIERCER is a must-see. Bong-Joon ho’s frequently insane and tremendously entertaining futuristic thriller come out at the end of the month, and I’m seriously hoping it receives support from all the genre fans out there. If a flick like this doesn’t get a boost from its target audience, what hope is there we’ll continue getting interesting outside-the-box releases from the studios?
Today the official one-sheet for the film has been unveiled, featuring an axe-wielding Chris Evans ready to fight for the lower classes. Not a bad poster, but I’d love to see an artist get a crack at it for Mondo. Perhaps that will happen in the not-too-distant future.
The plot:
In a future where a failed global-warming experiment kills off most life on the planet, a class system evolves aboard the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe via a perpetual-motion engine.
SNOWPIERCER stars Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, Octavia Spencer, John Hurt and Ed Harris. It opens domestically on June 27th.
