Have you surrendered yourself to Nicolas Winding Refn’s bizarre ONLY GOD FORGIVES yet? The film is currently out in theaters and available via VOD, but if you’re not anxious to check it out in either format, perhaps you’d like to know when the flick will hit Blu-ray/DVD?

October 22nd is the answer, friends. Not exactly a movie for Halloween celebrations, but… well, you know what? Maybe it is. Lord knows it’s surreal and nightmarish.

No special features have been announced yet, but it would be amazing if Refn recorded an audio commentary for it. This is not likely to happen, but a man can dream.

Here’s the synopsis for the film if you’re not in the know, although honestly, it doesn’t begin to give you an idea of what this movie is actually like.

Julian (Ryan Gosling), an American fugitive from justice, runs a boxing club in Bangkok as a front for his drug business. His mother (Kristin Scott Thomas), the head of a vast criminal organization, arrives from the US to collect the body of her favorite son, Billy. Julian’s brother has just been killed after having savagely murdered a young prostitute. Crazy with rage and thirsty for vengeance she demands the heads of the murderers from Julian. But first, Julian must confront Chang (Vithaya Pansringarm), a mysterious retired policeman – and figurehead of a divine justice – who has resolved to scourge the corrupt underworld of brothels and fight clubs.
