The Bigfoot-led found footage thriller LOST COAST TAPES has been picked up for distribution in North America by XLrator Media, it was announced at the Cannes Film Festival yesterday. A fall release is planned.

Deals are also in place with G2 Pictures/Koch Media for Europe, as well as with New Select in Japan.

LOST COAST TAPES is just one of several Bigfoot-themed flicks making the rounds lately; we’ve also got LOST WOODS coming at us in June, while Eduardo Sanchez just wrapped shooting on the scary Sasquatch tale EXISTS.

Here’s the plot breakdown for LOST COAST TAPES:

Sean Reynolds, an eager television host, is on a mission to debunk famed Bigfoot hunter Carl Drybeck, who claims to possess the body of a dead Sasquatch. When the team arrives in Northern California, they are immediately thrilled — Drybeck’s zealous belief in his hoax is going to make for a wildly entertaining episode of campy-paranormal television.

However, when Drybeck’s hunting partner is mysteriously attacked, the team is left alone, and reality begins to set in. The evidence is stacking up, Drybeck’s theory may not be a hoax, and the existence of Bigfoot might just be the least of their worries.

Directed by Corey Grant, THE LOST COAST TAPES stars Drew Rausch, Rich McDonald, Noah Weisberg, Frank Ashmore and Ashley Wood (pictured below).
