Paradise Lost finds it’s ‘Raphael’ in Anonymous star Sam Reid

One flick my gut is telling me to be stoked for is Alex Proyas’ PARADISE LOST, and to be honest I’m not even sure why. I’ve never read John Milton’s 17th-century poem so why does this flick interest me? I’d say it’s a tossup between director Alex Proyas and Bradley Cooper as ‘Lucifer.’

One thing that doesn’t sell this flick for me is it’s latest casting. According to the guys over at Variety ANONYMOUS star Sam Reid is the latest name to join the good versus evil flick. He’ll be playing ‘Raphael,’ one of the lesser quartet of archangels beneath ‘Lucifer,’ ‘Michael’ and ‘Gabriel.’ Ever the skeptic, he warns ‘Michael’ against trusting that ‘Lucifer’ can be redeemed.

Ever hear of Reid (above)? Of course you haven’t, all he’s really done is some TV work. Don’t get me wrong… I’m not scoffing at the move, all I’m saying is I’d like to see more from Reid before I judge this one. Either way PARADISE LOST should have enough going on to catch your interest at least. Like the rundown perhaps:

PARADISE LOST tells the story of the epic war in heaven between archangels Michael and Lucifer, including the latter’s role in Adam and Eve’s fall from grace.

Along with Cooper and Reid the film will also star Casey Affleck, Benjamin Walker, Djimon Hounsou, Camilla Belle (below), Callan McAullife, Diego Boneta and Dominic Purcell. One chick to eight men so far… I don’t like those odds.

Legendary Pictures are planning on dropping PARADISE LOST sometime in late 2013 so we can expect a lot more updates before that release.
