Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego’s monsters-on-the-moon found footage flick APOLLO 18 has come and gone into and out of theaters this past year with a mixed bag of reviews. Some loved the thing, some were sorely disappointed. My advice to you – if you didn’t get a chance to check this shite out in theaters then form your own opinion by catching it on Blu-Ray.
I know what you’re asking yourself: “That’s a great idea Jared, but when might APOLLO 18 be dropping on Blu-Ray?” Excellent question loyal reader! I’ve got that answer for you right here courtesy of High Def Digest! It seems APOLLO 18, in all it’s found-footage glory, will be dropping onto DVD and Blu-Ray just in time for the New Year on December 27th! Dang… that’s still months away.
Officially, Apollo 17 – launched December 17th, 1972 – was the last manned mission to the moon. But a year later, in December of 1973, two American astronauts were sent on a secret mission to the moon funded by the US Department of Defense. What you are about to see is the actual footage that the astronauts captured on that mission. While NASA denies its authenticity, others say it’s the real reason we’ve never gone back to the moon.
You know what they say, good things come to those who wait. Let’s hope that’s the case with APOLLO 18!
