It’s easy to assume that Ridley Scott’s PROMETHEUS is one of the most highly anticipated genre flicks in the next couple years. Several reasons account for this, including it’s outstanding cast. One member of that cast is the talented Patrick Wilson.
Luckily for us Wilson (right) chatted with MTV recently about the mysterious sci-fi flick and according to the actor the film will “Blow your mind.” Let’s hope so! Take a look at what else Wilson had to say:
“It was an absolute thrill. I was blown away by [the script] and I don’t use that sort of phrase a lot, but I was blown away by it, so excited that I wanted to read it again. I just kept re-reading it, even though I knew what was coming. And put it this way, I’ve never done this, I’ve never finished the shooting on a movie, and then on the ride home read the script again. I had no reason to read it, it was not work-oriented, I just really loved it, it’s so cool. …. There is an importance to my character, certainly size [of the role] was not the issue. It’s an exciting, thrilling script, so to be a part of it on any level, I said ‘Yes, just tell me where you want me to be, I will be there.’ It was great. It was nice to come in just as they were finishing shooting, just to play a little bit. … As you can imagine, [the film] is very wonderfully exiting, and yet so complicated and layered, which to me is what science fiction is all about, when it operates on many, many levels.”
Man I’m sick of hearing from the crew how awesome this thing is going to be. Let’s just see some goods already!
PROMETHEUS, which along with Wilson also stars Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron (below), Logan Marshall-Green, Idris Elba, Noomi Rapace, Ben Foster and Guy Pearce, is set to hit theaters everywhere on June 8, 2012.
