You guys know Adam Wingard right? He’s the guy bringing us that home invasion thriller YOU’RE NEXT. Ringing any bells? Well Wingard (right) just got YOU’RE NEXT into the post-production status and he’s already lining up his next project! Bit ambitious are we?
Hey if the flick kicks ass then I’m all for it. As far as his next project goes… Well time will tell how much ass-kicking it does. It’s a little diddy called THE DEVIL’S PUNCHBOWL, which was penned by brothers Alex and Max Schenker. Slated to start production later this year, the rundown on THE DEVIL’S PUNCHBOWL goes a little something like this:
‘Punchbowl’ follows Dylan Massey and his expecting wife Savanna whom after inheriting a pristine Montana ranch must fight to survive a century old blood feud raging on their land that has become known as the Devil’s Punchbowl.
Interesting… I don’t know what you guys think but my gut is telling me to pass on this one thus far. Of course it’s still insanely early so there’s not much to judge from. Wingard even gave a little insight into what attracted him to the project:
“I was instantly attracted to the authentic 70’s style grittiness, and the Terrence Malick/Sam Peckinpah feel of the script. It’s got this sweeping scope that takes you in, lifting you up as it explores the beauty and mystery of nature and then tears it all apart with sheer brutality and violence.”
