Have any of you guys ever heard of Neil Gaiman’s comic book series SANDMAN? Well if you haven’t there’s no need to worry, you’re not alone! Personally I’ve never heard of this thing but dare I say I’m intrigued by today’s news?

You see, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog Warner Bros. TV are getting ready to snatch up the rights to SANDMAN with plans on adapting the comic into a television series! They’re even already looking at writers and producers to get going on the project! Who’s at the top of their list? “Supernatural” creator Eric Kripke that’s who! So what’s the rundown on SANDMAN? Check it:

“Sandman” told the tale of Morpheus, the Lord of the Dreaming, a deity who personifies dreams. The book began in the horror realm but quickly made its mark in fantasy and mythology as Gaiman introduced the Endless, a group of powerful brothers and sisters named Destiny, Death, Destruction, Despair, Desire and Delirium (as well as Dream).

Gaiman’s comic series has been the center of a lot of praise as well, being considered a seminal work in the medium and winning numerous awards. A film adaptation has been in the works for over a decade but obviously nothing ever came to be.

Mind you none of this news is rock solid just yet but we’ll be on the lookout for more SANDMAN announcements! As always be sure to keep it here for more on the project as we hear it!
